York Region Food Network was originally formed in 1986 for
the purpose of coordinating regional food drives. Now the Food Network functions
in a networking role with York Region food banks, acting as the regional contact
for information and referrals, providing a local perspective on food security
issues, and coordinating semi annual food drives and the annual Daily Bread food
bank user survey in York Region.
